Stainless Steel Showroom Interior: Apple Sand Walls, Mirror Columns

A showroom is the most honest test of a decorative metal finish. There is no furniture to soften it, no artwork to distract from it and nowhere for an awkward joint to hide. What you are looking at is a design concept we modelled for a high-end decoration showroom, and almost every surface in it is stainless steel. The walls are apple sand brushed panels. The columns are mirror polished sheet, wrapped to a full cylinder. The ceiling is a folded and radiused soffit with concealed LED lines. And the objects on the floor and on the walls are sculptures we fabricate in the same metal and finish in paint.

The apple sand finish is the quiet one, and it is what makes the room work. A fine directional grain, somewhere between a brushed hairline and a fine bead blast, runs across every panel and turns the wall into a surface that absorbs light rather than throwing it back. Under the warm cove lines the grain picks up a soft gradient from top to bottom, so the wall never goes flat and never glares. Because the texture is directional and irregular rather than a repeating motif, there is no visible tile: sheets can be butted, lapped or run continuously, and the eye reads one continuous field of metal instead of a grid of panels.

Against that restrained ground, the accents have to be loud. The figure on the wall is a bronze sculpture finished in a deep green patina, and the companion piece beside it is the same bodywork in a polished grey stone finish. The rounded torus on the opposite wall is a stainless steel sculpture under a high-gloss red nano paint, a colour coat that sits on top of the metal rather than replacing it, so the highlight rolls across the curve exactly the way it would on a mirror. These are the pieces that pull the eye across the room, and every one of them is metalwork.

The mirror polished columns are what give the space its sense of depth. A full cylinder in 8K mirror finish wraps the room in a distorted reflection: the walls, the sculptures and the light lines all bend around it, and the room appears to continue past its own boundaries. In these renderings you can see the columns doubling the ceiling coffers and carrying the warm light strips into the reflection, which is exactly what stops the effect from reading as a gimmick. Curved cladding like this is a fabrication problem before it is a design problem. The sheet has to be formed, welded seam by seam, ground flat across every weld and polished until the distortion disappears.

Look up and the ceiling does as much work as the walls. Soffits are folded from sheet with a tight radius, corners are radiused rather than mitred to a sharp edge, and the LED lines are recessed into the joint so the light source itself is never visible, only the wash it leaves behind. Where the design wants a brighter accent the ceiling opens into a luminous panel that reads as pure white light rather than as a fitting. This is ordinary sheet metal, but it is sheet metal that has to be developed, welded, ground and polished until every fold reads as intentional.

What this concept demonstrates is that a single material can cover every scale of a project, from a three-metre wall panel to a full-height column, a folded ceiling return, a skirting shadow gap and a one-off sculpture, without any of them looking like a different product. As an OEM and stainless steel fabrication factory, ARTDSN supplies the panels, the formed sheet, the polished columns and the sculptural elements from one production line, so the finish stays consistent from the floor to the ceiling. If you are planning a showroom, a flagship store or a lobby, we can build this design in 304 stainless steel, develop the tooling for the folds and radiuses, and ship a sample set for you to approve before the full run.
