Brushed Gold Laser-Cut Stainless Steel Facade Panels — Project Case
ARTDSN recently delivered a custom laser-cut stainless steel facade system for a commercial building in the United States. The project asked for an exterior surface that breaks up the scale of a brick envelope without losing its solidity, and that is the gap brushed gold laser-cut stainless steel panels filled.
Eight vertical panels were fabricated from 304 stainless steel and then finished with a brushed gold PVD coating. Each panel carries its own cut pattern — a free-form, asymmetric perforation that lets daylight pass through and turns the facade into a shadow screen as the sun moves across the building.
- Material: 304 stainless steel, 1.5 mm thickness
- Finish: brushed gold PVD, color-matched to supplied sample
- Pattern: custom laser-cut perforation, asymmetric layout
- Panel size: 1.2 m wide x 4.8 m tall, custom per drawing
- Mounting: concealed bracket system on a structural steel subframe
- Application: exterior facade, decorative screen, feature wall
- Lead time: 35 days from approved shop drawing to site delivery
The panels were produced on a fiber-laser cutting line, with each perforation vectorized in CAD and nested to minimize scrap. After cutting, edges were deburred and the panels were hand-finished to bring out the brushed grain. The PVD coat was applied in a single batch to keep color consistent across all eight pieces.
