Why 2m x 8m Panels Matter

Most stainless steel cladding jobs are limited to 1.2m x 3m panels, which forces visible vertical and horizontal seams across large surfaces. A 2m x 8m stainless steel sheet removes most of those seams and gives installers a single continuous plane. For oversized stainless steel panel applications — hotel lobbies, atrium walls, elevator interiors, and decorative columns — that continuous plane is the difference between a feature wall that reads as one solid mirror surface and one that reads as a tiled grid.

Mirror-Finish (8K) Production

Every oversized stainless steel panel goes through a multi-stage polishing line to reach an 8K mirror finish. Grade 304 stainless steel coils are cut, leveled, and ground through successive abrasive stages before the final mirror buffing. Our polishing crews work the full2m x 8m surface by hand and machine to keep reflectivity consistent edge-to-edge, then wipe and film the finished sheet before packing. This is the same process used for our hairline and vibration finishes on architectural stainless steel fabrication orders.

From Flat Sheet to Cylindrical Column

The same production line that produces flat oversized stainless steel panels also feeds our cylindrical column program. Stainless steel sheets are rolled, welded, ground, and polished on a vertical rotating polishing machine to form a seamless large-format stainless steel column. Because the rolling and polishing happen in the same workshop as the flat panel work, diameters, finishes, and surface quality can be matched across an entire lobby, atrium, or hotel interior package.

Where Oversized Panels Are Used

Architectural stainless steel fabrication at this scale is typically specified for hotel interior stainless steel cladding, commercial lobby feature walls, airport and shopping-mall columns, elevator cab interiors, and high-end residential accent walls. We also supply oversized mirror stainless steel panels for sculptural and feature-art installations where a single uninterrupted reflective surface is part of the design intent.

Quality Control in the Workshop

Each 2m x 8m stainless steel sheet is inspected flat on the workshop floor and measured with hand tools before it leaves the line. Reflectivity, flatness, weld seams on rolled columns, and edge condition are all checked against the project specification. Packing uses foam interleaving, edge protectors, and steel-framed export crates sized for container loading.
