Custom Stainless Steel Museum Display Bench Fabrication

When a contemporary museum needed a sculptural display bench that could double as functional seating, the brief landed on our workshop floor: take an artist’s stone-textured maquette and translate it into brushed stainless steel, then deliver and install it inside a working gallery.
This project followed our standard custom fabrication path for cultural and institutional clients. We started from the artist’s concept sketch, modeled the curved bench body in CAD, and laser-cut the form from 304 stainless plate. The panels were CNC-formed, hand-welded, and ground smooth before receiving a brushed satin finish. Once the bench passed workshop QC, we crated it for transport and completed on-site installation alongside the suspended silk banner artwork.
What we delivered
- Custom 304 stainless steel bench body, formed from laser-cut and CNC-pressed plate
- Hand-welded seams, ground flush and finished to a consistent brushed satin surface
- Stone-textured sculptural element reproduced in metal from the artist’s original maquette
- Workshop QC, custom crating, and coordinated delivery to the gallery site
- On-site installation by our fitting team, aligned with the surrounding artwork
- Finish selected to read cleanly under directional gallery lighting
Built for museums and galleries
We work directly with curators, gallery owners, public-art project managers, and sculptors who need fabricated seating or display pieces that match an artistic vision. Every commission moves through the same controlled process — concept review, CAD modeling, sample finish on request, fabrication, and site installation — so the piece that arrives in the gallery is the piece that was drawn on paper.
