At the heart of a flagship shopping-mall atrium, a sculptural ceiling canopy, sweeping columns and arched wall openings were clad in mirror-polished champagne-gold stainless steel. The curved panels wrap the volume in one continuous warm-gold skin, while the visible diamond/rhombus grid of panel joints adds a quiet architectural rhythm to the undulating surface.

By day the 8K mirror finish bounces daylight, escalator light and storefront signage across every facet of the atrium. By night it doubles the effect of the architectural lighting, washing the space in a soft golden glow. Visitors instinctively slow down, take photos and turn the entrance into a social-media-ready check-in spot — exactly the moment retail brands are looking for.

Behind the look is real fabrication work, not off-the-shelf sheets. Each panel was CNC-cut, formed and welded to the curvature of the canopy and columns, then finished to a true mirror before the champagne-gold PVD or electroplated color was applied. The result reads as a single, seamless golden sculpture, even though it is built from hundreds of individual panels.

Specifications

  • Base metal: 304 stainless steel (standard interior); 316 stainless steel available for humid, coastal or high-traffic public spaces.
  • Sheet thickness: 0.8–3.0 mm, selected by panel size, curvature and structural requirement.
  • Finish: 8K mirror polish (Ra ≤ 0.05 µm) with PVD or electroplated champagne-gold color, uniform and UV-stable for interior use.
  • Panel size: custom CNC-cut up to ~1500 × 4000 mm per piece; larger surfaces are split into rhombus/diamond modules to follow the curved geometry.
  • Fabrication: laser cutting, CNC bending, roll forming, TIG welding, seam grinding and re-polishing after forming to keep the mirror continuous across joints.
  • Fixing: concealed aluminum sub-frame with adjustable brackets, allowing tolerance absorption on site and a joint-free visual surface.
  • Packing: PE film between panels, foam edge protection, fumigated plywood crate, export-ready for sea or air freight.
