Round Edge (Quarter Round) Trim
A convex curved face that softens the tile edge. The standard recommendation for bathroom walls, shower niches, kitchen backsplashes, and any application where a sharp tile edge would be a safety or visual concern. Round edge trim pairs especially well with rectified porcelain and large-format panels.
Square Edge Trim
A crisp, right-angle reveal that reads as a deliberate architectural line rather than a softened transition. Used in contemporary and minimalist interiors where the trim is meant to look like a shadow gap or a metal inlay.
T-Profile Trim
A flat strip with two anchoring legs forming a T in cross-section. Primarily used as a movement / expansion joint between two tile fields, or as a decorative divider that breaks a long tile wall into panels.
Listello (Decorative Inlay)
A narrow, often polished or patterned strip set into the tile field as a horizontal or vertical accent. Listellos are available in stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and resin, and are commonly used in shower walls, kitchen backsplashes, and pool surrounds to introduce a metallic or textural band.
Materials Used for Metal Tile Trim
Material choice is driven by environment, expected lifespan, and finish consistency.
Stainless Steel (304 / 316)
The most specified material worldwide. 304 stainless is suitable for indoor walls, floors, and most commercial applications. 316 stainless is required for outdoor, coastal, pool, and chemical environments where chloride exposure is expected. Stainless can be polished to mirror, brushed to a satin grain, or PVD-coated to gold, rose gold, black, bronze, and champagne tones.
Aluminum
Lightweight and economical. Most aluminum trims are anodized (silver, champagne, bronze, black) rather than PVD coated. Anodized finishes are durable for indoor residential use but wear faster than PVD stainless in high-traffic commercial settings.
Brass
Specified for heritage, hospitality, and high-end residential interiors where a warm gold tone is desired. Solid brass is more expensive than PVD-coated stainless but can be specified when natural aging and patina are part of the design intent.
Finish Options: Brushed, Polished, PVD, Anodized

- PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) — a titanium-nitride or zirconium-nitride coating bonded to stainless at the molecular level. Available in gold, rose gold, champagne, bronze, black, and gunmetal. PVD is the most scratch- and fade-resistant colored finish available; it is rated for outdoor use.
- Anodized — an electrochemical oxide layer on aluminum. Most common in silver, champagne, and bronze. Lower cost than PVD stainless but with shorter service life in high-traffic areas.
